D5447438-0C4C-409D-9C0D-FD2451ACE0E1.jpeg I’m having an issue with my 2015 Ram 1500 3.6L
The oil temp gauge(s) will cut out while driving usually about 30 to 40 miles into a trip. When this happens if I give it enough throttle to hit around 4000 rpm the engine cuts out as if the govener kicked in. I have to get off the gas until it drops down to about 2000rpm before I can apply throttle again.
It creates a dangerous situation at times.
When I turn it off and let it sit for a few minutes it will reset.
The dealer has looked at it multiple times and can only guess at the fix. Last time they replaced the oil temp sensor and wiring harness. That seemed to fix it but less than 10000 miles since the repair and it’s doing it again. The truck has 91,000 miles on it no warranty. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Had a ford ranger that did same thing. Not sure if our 3.6 has it but it was the head temp sensor.

2017 Ram 1500 3.6, had all sensors plus a tranny replacement. Ran fine and started doing this exact thing. I think the computer is trashed honestly because there were numerous cooling system issues but they never threw codes.

Yep its still happening. MKSTU's post from May 2018 is exactly whats happening to my 2014 Ram 1500 3.6L with 153,000 miles. Had Transmission serviced but still the same problem then observed shifting issues occur only when oil temp sensor drops out. Ordered new oil cooler kit, w new oil temp & pressure sensors from RockAuto. Plan to install next week. Fingers crossed.

Bought a new oil cooler kit with new sensors for $250 from RockAuto and paid another $250 to have it installed. Same damn problem. Must be something going bad in the ECM. Problem seems not to happen as often during cooler weather so I think I'll trade it in soon.
