I have a 2103 Big Horn with 5.7 hemi. 1st time truck owner. I see it calls for conventional oil. And I believe they put conventional in at my last oil change as it only cost $48 or so. It's got 152K on it now. Is it safe and is it beneficial for me to switch to high mileage synthetic oil or stay with conventional oil??

I use Mobil 1 Extended Performance full synthetic in mine and have no issues ... It's obviously more expensive than conventional but a bit more now as opposed to a big time repair bill is easier to take ... I'm on my third RAM (2013 - 2017 - 2020) and used synthetic in all of them ... It boils down to a personal choice, and with synthetic you can go a little longer between changes ..

The main benefit is tbn retention, meaning synthetic oil can safely operate longer as it starts with a higher tbn. PYB makes a real good conventional oil if you go that way.
