Air down your tires a bit, and hammer it!! Oh and take pics of you showing up all those Raptards when you bomb the dunes and get that baby airborne!

My eyes are WIDE after reading this; we're so unfamiliar with sandy beaches up here I immediately think it would get stuck as all hell?1
Looking forward to pics and a story after!

I grew up on the coast in LA, live in TX now. Sand is tricky, not like mud or snow at all.

If you deflate your tires and accelerate it slow you should be good.

You will run into problems if you just try to WOT it if you feel a tire spin. Just going to dig a hole.

Thanks for the reminder for the NYS 4x4 off road permit. I think the county permit is open enrollment.

Didnt know they had beach's in New york...lol:happy160:

They are working hard to restore the beaches on Long Island. Pictures were from December when dredging was going on.

I haven't take my 2500 out to the Oregon beaches yet, but I did my Sierra 2500. I didn't let out tire pressure or do anything special. Depends what you want to do? ride around sightseeing and pics, or for really trying to have some fun.

I approached the beaches like they are snow drifts. keep your momentum, and never stop unless you are at packed sand.

There aren't a lot of dunes in the areas where I go, so its mainly just going in and out of the deep stuff, whipping ****ties/donuts

Finally took the truck out tn on the beach. She did good. Didn't let air out or nothing.
You can feel the 4 wheel drive working but the truck handled it well.

My blacked out edition now how stained tires from the sand. ( lightened the black tires up a bit). Hopefully after driving it in the rain once
Or twice they will b better

Good to here. I am surprised to didn't have to air down at all with all of the new sand. Did you have your truck in 4low? Do you have LSD rear end? Any pictures??......

Nope not low. The 4wd lock. Yeah I figured id give it a shot first with regular pressure In tires and it did not get stuck. Next time I will pull some air to see the difference . To be honest, not sure which rear

Yes I have the 3.92 rear. Is that LSD?

3.92 is the rear gear ratio. LSD is locking rear differential. Gives power to both rear wheels when needed instead of one. I believe our trucks are not true 4x4's. With a LSD it's really a 4x3, without (open rear differential) it's a 4x2.

It should say on your window sticker anti slip and charge of about $350.

I was under the assumption that the
Button saying 4wd "lock" ment it locked all 4 wheels in 4wd

I don't think mine is LSD. I can't find it on the sheet. It says electronic stability control. That's it
