I am about to order OPT7 LED's for my '14 1500 Express. I saw on another forum to get the fluxbeam for fogs, I'm wondering if they have the fans on them as well or if any are just the bulbs? So far it looks like I need 9005,9006,and H11.

I'm wondering if I need to order anything besides the kits? Do I need anything to prevent them from flickering? I'd like to get everything done at once so I'm not pulling the grill and other crap off numerous times to fix the problems.

As I saw in other threads, it appears everything is plug n play and I'd like to keep it that way since I'm horrible with electrical stuff. I definitely don't want to have to splice wires or tie in to other stuff or any of that stuff.

When I ordered mine ('13 w/quads) i ordered from there website you have to enter the make and model of vehicle. Mine came with everything I needed, the resistor's, the light's and the little converter, All plug and play. I only did low beams and did cree's for the fogs ( which suck by the way).

opt7 output pics - DODGE RAM FORUM - Dodge Truck Forums

IMO

I think I am asking a few days to late haha...the forum was on fire last week with OPT7 stuff. I actually was going to PM you but figured I'd do that if nobody answered in the next day or two. Definitely let me know about the install and how they perform. Hopefully someone else can give me answers in the meantime though.

The fluxbeam's have fans, i wouldnt recomend using them in the fogs for that reason, you'll end up with moisture and dirt inside your housings

Yes they have fans but they are supposed to be waterproof. When you order them just tell them that you have a ram truck and they include capacitors and polarity inverts. Everthing is plug and play no wiring needed. Sorry it took so long for a reply. Been a busy work week.

Well as you know, I installed mine last night. Total invested hours, about 3.

They come with instructions, the text is pretty clear, but there are zero pictures... So if you dont know what a flux capacitor is.. It's this:

The reverse polarity thing: (whatever that is)

.....I connected all that **** together, except for the fogs (just the capacitor)

Install is the same as changing a bulb, minus the extra 2 foot of wires and devices that need to be crammed into the headlight housing (that was fun)

Heres the fog...

Anyways.. The lows should be straight up and down, be sure to double check that (I forgot to on the second one, so it added another hour)

Right before I took the housing out again to fix it, I stared at my truck for about 30mins, debating on just taking the all out, returning, and getting some silverstars.. Why? Because I'm still not 100% sure about them.

They are much brighter.

They look cool.

The high beams don't make much of a difference (more like a flood)

...I aimed them all the way down to get my beam close to what I believe to be legal (6" lift also)..same with the fogs.

Right now I'm going to give it a few more nights and see how much the locals enjoy them. Lucky me, I never ever have to turn on my brights for visibility (well lit everything in san diego).

Heres a picture I took this morning, it caught my attention when I unlocked the truck and actually seen a light beam on my garage door... Never happened with halogens.

Recommend beer, tools, helping hand, and brush up on some new cuss words, for the install.

Thanks so much for the pics, that's exactly what I wanted to see. Let me know what you think about the fogs. Other people said to avoid the cree and get the same bulb used for highs and lows. The pic of them on the garage in daylight makes them look okay in my mind.

Oh okay, I goofed and thought you'd gotten the cree's...these threads and which people did what get jumbled in my head at times. I had planned to get the 9006's as well I think.

Well, I only left the house to drive a mile down the road to the carwash...where I use a wall there to aim my lights lol.

Have to improvise when you live somewhere like this.

Out of the 3 cars I passed, no flashes.

I have a decent 20min drive home from work tonight, we'll see how they do.

Do the lights have to come out? Like the fixtures?

Flux capacitor?? Wait I do not want to go back to 1955!!!! haha

So do you need the Flux capacitor and reverse polarity thing for is that just what the finicky 2014+ need?

Thanks for taking the time and reviewing them buddy.

Lights (housing) have to come out lol.. That was the easy part.

@blown. I'm not sure.. I don't even know that I truly needed it. But it came with it, and I'd rather not have to pull them out again to install it.

The polarity things were necessary for the high/low bulbs, because the factory harness wouldn't connect without it. So that's why I only have it installed on them two bulbs.
