So I have a 2015 ram 1500 cc 4x4 big horn edition 3.21 gears. Bought new Came with tow mode. I installed the trailer brake module and had dealer program ecu. I have aftermarket ss. Exhaust with flow master 40, Fuel wheels with Nitto ridge grapplers LT 295/70-18. Bilstein shocks, ready lift sst leveling kit/ A- arms. Airlift 5000 with wireless remote. I towed our Lance 2375 travel trailer back from Kentucky to Massachusetts 986 miles. Trailer weight 5600lb gross max is 7000lb.
My oil temperature hit 250° at one point going up a 9% grade. Transmission ran a little hotter. Just shy of 4K rpms she was screaming.
Is there anything that can be done to help with towing that will make a difference??
• inner cooler
• larger capacity transmission pan...more fluid
• larger rear diff cover...more fluid
• Tuner...bullydog
• Cold air intake
• Go back to stock size tires
We are planning a year long travel across country starting in September.
Thanks In advance
Rich
