Ordered new dodge question about audio

Just ordered factory direct a 2014 Ram 1500 Crew Cab. I paid extra money for the stereo upgrade from 6 speakers to 9. A little too late now I guess to ask this but has anyone heard side by side the 6 speaker default and the 9 speaker upgrade? I would like to know if there is a much of a difference in sound. Hopefully so. I hope I get it soon too I just ordered it 6-4-14

I sat in trucks with each system for a while, before buying my truck. I went back and forth.

Niether system is spectacular, but there is a noticeable difference in the two. The upgrade cost is worth it, as long as you don't rip it all out for an aftermarket system.

^^^Bingo what jeepguy said if you like it the extra cost will be worth it, if you don't well there is a bit of money you can spend to upgrade it again lol. Welcome and I hope you get your truck soon too.

At moderate, everyday listening levels, the 9 speaker Alpine sounds better. However, as soon as you start to lean on it (volume wise) the system falls apart really fast (with my eq settings)
The 6 speaker system is blah, bare bones stuff ...but it kinda rocks (in a rockin, distorted kind of way lol) at higher volume.
Again tho...like stated above....both systems leave a lot to be desired.

I had the Alpine in my 2012 and the base stereo in my 2014. I think the base stereo sounds better. I was not at all impressed with the Alpine system.
