Our Ram Sport did an unplanned off-road trip when it hit some black ice and pine needles on a road just above Bass Lake in Madera County on December 30. My boy and his girlfriend were coming back home from going to the snow, and the Ram rolled while dropping roughly 75' from the road.

The kids were a bit shaken with slight concussions, minor cuts on my boy's hands from trying to get out after punching glass, but they're OK. The Ram is totaled though. It sacrificed itself so that they might live.

Wife and I will be looking for a suitable replacement, and maybe step up to a 2500 if we can find a decent used example.

They havent ruined 2500's yet, although I'm sure it's coming. Stepping up to a new 2500 or any old one especially 6.4 probably not a bad move. Not sure I would ever do a def diesel, so anything pre def not bad either, HO cummins are legendary.

What mattered most survived so the truck did it's job.

Glad everyone is ok, Because of the Ram solid frame and body panels and cast-iron engine block it saved their lives, shop around the 2500 hasn't been violated yet it's still a solid platform, the new Hurricane (tornado)W aluminum engine block would have been no protection.

Same here...glad they weren't seriously hurt. Count your (their) blessings :waytogo:

What have you been seeing for 2500's out your way?

Lot's of hi mile 2500s for over $30K unfortunately.
However, I just found a 2016 Tradesman PW for sale in Nebraska with a little over 60K miles for under $26K !
