My 2012 Ram continues to amaze me. After taking her on a long drive (VA to CT) I was a little worried I would pay my weight in gold for gas. My wife and I decided to take the truck versus the Explorer on our road trip. Knowing my truck is a bit of a gas guzzler, I was extremely impressed by the MPG results... 23.8 MPG for the trip! Not bad for an almost 3 ton Crew Cab 4WD powered by a 5.7 V8. In the following weeks since our trip, I've averaged 21-22 MPG. Not sure what has caused the huge uptick in MPG, but I am not complaining. What impresses me more is that my Dad's 2014 F150 extended cab 2WD is only getting 19-20 MPG. :)

IS this per the computer, or hand calculated ??

I ask cuz my 2012 has gotten as high as 22, but that was hand calculated...the computer said 23.6.

How many miles are on it ?

There have been a few threads about (relatively...) good gas mileage, and it would be interesting what the average speeds were as speed affects gas mileage a lot. Maybe we should use a new metric MPG * average speed. ;)

In any case here some numbers... Close to 80 mph average over 1 hr. Sorry, not a Hemi ;)

LOL. Were you traveling at 50 mph with a tailwind? My 2011 quad cab 4x4 with hemi got 17 while driving 70mph.
3.92 rear gear ratio.

i check mine every fill up (2013 Ram Express Hemi (Ram 1500) | Fuelly). i have a 2013 4x4 QC 3.55 gears. i checked today at 70 MPH i am turning about 1700 RPM. i fill up twice a week (100 miles per day). last fill up was 3 days of work commute only with cruise set at 70 and the occasional pass at about 80 and i averaged 19.8 hand calculated. the overhead only showed 19.4. overall my average driving to work is about 18.0 with a little in town driving

Mine gets: (from a recent trip between VA & FL)
21.5 @ 55 mph (would get 22 if I held the speed longer)
20.5 @ 65 mph
19.5 @ 70 mph
18.5 @ 75 mph

these were hand calculated #,s and in all cases, the computer was 1-1.5 mpg higher

Sorry it took me a bit to respond. This was on a trip from VA to CT on I-95. I probably was driving at an avg of 70mph. It was all hand calculated as I don't have the fancy cluster. Here in the past few weeks I've gotten around 21, not as good as I routinely get stuck in the Navy base traffic coming into work every morning. I usually avg 60-65 when I'm moving though.
