I have a problem. I put a new radiator in my 4.7 ram my wife drove it to work the other day she said it overheated on the way then she drove it back, about a 25 mile round trip. the truck quit on the way back when I got to it I discovered the radiator drain petcock was gone ... blew out. When I turned the engine over it cranks easy like there is no compression , wont start . what is broke timing chain , blown head gasket . Something melted down, I dont know where to start. Is the engine junk.

If the engine over-heated and was ran til it completely shut off.....many issues can be found.
Warped head , busted piston rings are some of what I've seen first hand.

Similar situation occurred with my truck before i purchased it. The guy redid the whole engine, had to have it machined, seemed like it was a total breakdown and rebuild. (Engine only had 75k miles) I now have a small external coolant leak and have to check weekly until i can get in a shop and tear it back down, check for any wear and tear, and hopefully find that the head was just improperly torqued. On my way to work this morning as i pulled off highway my coolant line exploded so i feel your pain.
