P1009 code while at dealership for something else

I was getting a new key fob programmed at a dealership and they said I have a code p1009 that they found. A code that doesn't turn on the check engine light apparently. The indicated I needed a new humidity sensor and that it would be about $130. I said I will look into it. So, it appears my AC is working fine and haven't had any issues. From what I understand that is on the windshield. How do I remove the plastic cover without breaking anything. I can get the part for fairly cheap. Not sure how I can check that code after I replace it or should I just not replace since everything is cooling just fine. I can put it on manual climate and turn recirculate on and off just fine, AC is cooking fine. Not sure why I need to fix it. Anyone want to chime in on this?

The humidity sensor is under the small black cover to the right side of the rear view mirror. It's just on the trucks with Dual Zone ATC or the ATC mod. That cover just pops off if I remember correctly.
