I know there are 2 NOX sensors. 1 at turbo and 1 downstream.

Where to start ? Some pointers will be appreciated.
I have had whole exhaust down a few years ago. Had to change my DEF sensor and the bolt heads were rusted off. Dropped the unit , ground off bolt heads , drilled and retapped them.
I'm handy, just need pointed in right direction.

P229f box circuit / range
P229e nox sensor circuit
And some misc others ...
Appreciate some direction. I'm over 100 miles from home right now.

Michael

Post SCR is NOX sensor 2. Location is rear right in the bend.
The third sensor kinda looks like a NOX in the top of the SRC near temp sensor (out?) is nh3 / ammonia sensor / intermediate sensor, (different names ) . N/3 and temp sit right on top next to eachother.
Hopefully this info helps others. I had to search a little.

I got the Mopar part # (68227486AB)

I'm gonna sit tight and hopefully someone chimes in and agrees I need nox 2. ( post SCR) I don't want to spend money twice. Nice to get some confirmation before ordering.

I won't be headed home till morning. Hope I make it.

Thank you

This is rear SCR at tail pipe.
Down stream NOX sensor correct ?

also my ammonia module is vacant of leads and harness to connect it also absent of wiring.
Part is discontinued. Assuming my truck never had 1. There ( feels) to be a plug on top of the SCR where I assume it was plugged.

Wish me luck. Got a 45 min ride to get home. Should make it.

Om i made it home with no shut down messages or MIL .
I did get the " service DEF see dealer " once.

Anyone have any info on what appears to be no ammonia senor on my truck?
Since the ammonia module has no wires to it?
You can see the yellow lock handle for harness and two empty slots in the module behind it.

Ok I guess I'm going to shop local for a down stream NOX sensor .
Seems like my issue.
Also my DEF pump ran and sounds like it always has the last 10 years. It's so quite where I live you can't help but listen to it as soon as the truck shuts off.

Good night, what a day .

Update :
Have local dealer with NOX sensor in stock. 971.00 out the door.
Sniff around my plant. Found complete exhaust from a 2017 . He gave it too me for free. Few years ago I bent / welded up a tool box for his work bike.
Karma definitely comes around, good example.
Soaked all the sensors for 24 hours. This NOX sensor came out very nice.

Truck sensor is soaking overnight today. If weather permits will finish up this attempt to correct codes tomorrow.

if you or anyone else you know needs any parts from this complete exhaust please speak up. I'll share .

Michael

Pic three last post( with sensor removed ) is the ammonia sensor. This is not how my 2015 is laid out. My truck doesn't have this sensor. The block is mounted to the frame rail but there is no sensor and the yellow lock harness plug is close and never had anything attached to it. Haven't dug into that yet but I have been wondering.
Chime in if you can help me understand this.
Thank you

Took me and hour to get my NOX sensor out of the SCR unit. What a pain, even with heat. I soaked everyday with PB Blaster for 4 days too. Michigan for ya .
Anyways . I'm over 100 miles on the donor NOX sensor from my buddies deleted 2017.
Permanent 229f remains. ( knew it would)
Others INC emissions list staying away. No MIL light.
Will keep driving until the next emissions chapter.
Reading up now on Permanent codes and drive cycles.
need to also research why my 2015 doesn't have NH3 sensor.
Thinking of doing the 67a recall , atleast I'll get some warranty for 40k miles .
Thanks for all your help fam
