PADS best friction coefficient?

I have brand new everything (source: Detroit Axle) rotors, calipers , pads, hoses, Pentosin Super 4 fluid.

My stopping still SUCKS!
Rotors already glazed in 3K miles.

Is this because of the fancy-shmancy CERAMIC pads?
Do you agree that :
Semi-metallic pads have higher coefficient of friction and work better?

EBC has a higher u yellow pads

But they cost $150 bucks, ouch!

Detroit axle is in the lowest tier for part quality. I only run Ceramic pads mostly because of the dusting, but also because they are quieter. Metallic pads leave corrosive dust and will destroy wheels and paint if not cleaned off regularly.

I have slotted and drilled Detroit Axle rotors and ceramic pads. My braking was always fantastic with the factory parts, and even better and smoother with the Detroit Axle parts.

No brake dust with either brake sets.

I am very easy on brakes. I don't think the prior owner was as easy, as the rear pads were almost worn completely out around 37k miles, and the front had a slight shimmy when braking. I went ahead and changed everything to the slotted/drilled rotors and ceramic pads, as I travel in the mountains a lot when I do drive.

The Detroit Axle parts may not hold up well in the long run to aggressive braking, I don't know. They are working and performing great for me so far.

I don't put many miles on mine these days.

We just put D/A pads and rotors on my sons Chevy Tahoe.

Ceramic is good for “light” dust…good for keeping ghetto-wheels looking good, but not best for Heavy Duty braking.

Semi-metallic is Best for heavy, effective braking and towing….but makes dust that dirties-up the wheels and creates more wear on discs.

Organic is cheap but “fades” under heat and makes lots of dust.

Ceramic pads used to have a reputation of being hard on rotors. Doubt that that applies anymore. I have ceramic pads on all 4 wheels. No issues. They were part of a Power Stop kit that included their drilled and slotted rotors. Great with respect to stopping distance and better than the pads and rotors the truck had from stock. I tow a 6k trailer quite a bit and they've been great for towing, as well. Doubt ceramic is your issue. Likely just poor quality parts. You also need to break them in properly. Edit: The Power Stops are a carbon fiber ceramic pad so likely better than standard ceramic pads.

GG is currently the highest coefficient of friction commercially available. semi metallic will always stop faster/stronger than ceramic/organic. for sure there can be exceptions on super/race cars but $$$$ and they dont tow trailers either

myself i had trouble getting over the new copper free formulations i was sure they would manage to fluck it up, but i installed new pads front and back this summer and they are exceptional

Sounds like new brakes that weren't bedded in properly and poor braking habits by the driver. If your not progressively pushing the brake pedal to down while stopping then not enough force is being applied and your basically polishing the pads with the rotors. It's a progressive problem that continues to get worse the more one brakes in this manner. Most people don't realize they "ride the brakes" but if you call it that they'll usually cop an attitude about it especially on a web forum.
