Paint woes

Was walking around the truck the other day and something caught my eye. There was no paint on the edge of the hood between the hood and fender. Lovely...doesn't show up hardly at all unless you shine a light on it or really look for it. Gonna have to spray the entire hood... I looked this truck over real well before buying...not sure how I missed this.

I have seen posts where others have had similar problems. I have a small discoloration on my hood under the clear coat. Trying to decide if it's worth having them repaint it or not. Quality control leaves a little to be desired to say the least.

Boy no kidding. My sport hood has a tiny "dimple" in it. Plastic so no dent removal. Plus there are a few imperfections in the metal where the rear of the back driver door meets the back of the cab. Eh, it's a truck. 47,000 dollars but who's counting!

I have a spot on my bumper cover by the drivers side wheel well that it looks like someone used their finger to get a piece of dirt out of the base coat and then sent it on to get cleared. On a black truck it sticks out

During the last few years, there has been lots and lots of complaints about the paint on the 4th gen trucks. I think that QC checked out and left the building. Some of the problems can be corrected without repainting panels, other problems require repaint.

Maybe there should be a survey to see if there is any correlation between where the truck was build and paint quality issues.

I'm not sure where mine was painted but I had solvent pop all the way down into the primer the entire roof was completely stripped and repainted. Px8 seems to have the worst issues according to the owner of the body shop it's been fairly common with the black chrysler products not just in the trucks.
