Painted Calipers

I’m having troubles with the search function...

I’m looking for Ram owners that have painted their calipers to tell me about how it turned out in the long run.

I am thinking g2 is the best, and I’m leaning towards red, but the red looks darker than the red in my hemi emblem. I like the idea of brush on for durability. Definitely a higher price tag on this brand.

The other option is POR-15. Red is more “normal” for caliper red. Brush on, and half the price or less than the G2

anyone else want to please share what they did and post a pic or two?

I painted mine and 1 had a spot chip off that I need to fix but all the others have done fine.

What brand did you go for?

I think it was Duplicolor Red, been awhile since I did it.

Two coats of this. Also put 1 coat on tow hooks and I could not be happier with appearance. The red in the Hemi 5.7 liter emblem is ever so slightly more orangish but not enough to change my mind on my satisfaction. Tow hooks look awesome now too and I’m glad I did them while I had the paint out. I have only had a month and can not comment on durability. I would not hit it with a power washer though. My confidence is low to medium on durability but we’ll see.

I had mine painted on my previous ram.Just make sure you clean them proper before painting.Would I do it again ,no.Looked Decent for years,got a little hard to clean and became a little black in areas but looked decent enough.The ram I have now I put the caliper covers on with ram logo,Looks way better and very simple to put on.

I had the Dorman ones on last year but they rubbed and squealed so I took them off. I must say yours look the best of any I’ve seen, being black and more subtle. I think with my open wheels and red they would show a lot more and look more “fake”.

Ive had two sets, maybe more of MGP, never a noise.

Plus, you can do custom colors, like I did these before.

Awesome! I can only imagine how much in Canada I’m dollars those would cost in custom colours... probably pushing $500

I have a set of red MOPAR MGP covers to add to mine. But as i'm still waiting on the wheel replacements from the tire dealer because they're closed it will be awhile.

That's what I went with only red with ram logo,looks class.Painted looks great to as they did on my last truck,covers are easier though.

I used G2 on a previous vehicle and I was extremely happy with it. Saw 1 tiny chip come off after a break job but i touched it up with nail polish and then forgot which caliper it even was. Paint has a nice gloss finish and it looked mint for the 5 following years i had the car. You'll need to leave your truck sitting for at least 24 hours, on jack stands ideally.
