Hey guys, just picked up a new truck and when I have the exterior lights in the on position and apply the brake, the truck dings and I get a "Parking Light Out" warning on the dash.

Looking outside, all the lights function as they should and all the brake lights function as they should. But the warning still appears.

When driving in the daytime aka lights off, there is no warning after brake application.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Do you have any led lights? These trucks require canbus compatible leds or resistors

No LED's yet. I am familiar with CANBus as I traded in my '13 1500 for this one.

Yeah I was trying to avoid a trip back to the dealer due to lack of free time during the days

Hi HolyRam,

Sorry to hear about this! If you decide to visit your local dealership for further diagnosis I'd be happy to offer assistance if needed. Just PM our page with your VIN and let me know.

I have the same parking light out info. Took it to the dealer, and they want to order a new ECM. What do you guys think? Thanks

Why would you even consider NOT doing what they recommend if it is on warranty? Or do you like the warning light and will miss it when it is gone?

If this 'light out' warning is on a newer, warrantied truck, why wouldn't you allow them to try anything on their dime to fix it?

I would never agree to pay any deductible or co-pay fee if their efforts were unsuccessful.

Please add your new vehicle info to your avatar details and remove the older if NA. TIA
