About a week ago, my truck stopped unlocking the doors when insertiny hand into the handle. I changed batteries in my key FOB, and still no luck. The truck is filthy, so maybe this is the issues. Any other ideas? I live in Michigan, so the salt & sand is all over the roads...

Did you replace the radio? It is controlled thru it. Does your push to start work? That operates on the same system as the passive entry. There are 2 transmitters in your fob. One is the battery powered section that operates the remote door lock/unlock. The second is a RFID (like toll roads use) and operates the passive entry and push to start. It will operate with a dead battery.

The radio is factory. Key fob works with the lock & unlock buttons and the passive push button lock on the door. The only part not working is the passive entry on both my wife’s key & mine on the doors.

This may be a dumb question, but is there any chance you have been wearing gloves since it’s cold?

It’s not working with or without gloves. My wife said she noticed it stopped working yesterday also.

Do you have a spare key fob? Maybe try that one and see if it changes anything.

Yeah, we have 2 key fobs, both do not work... If the weathers above freezing, I’ll give the truck a good bath and see if it helps. If not, I’ll have the dealer look at it when I have the tailgate latch recall done. Thanks for all the replies so far. Any other ideas should be appreciated!

I’ve never heard of cold hurting the sensors, but if you have a friend with a heated garage you could test that.

^This. Go into your settings on the radio and make sure passive entry isn’t off

I checked the setting first thing.

Update- it warmed up to 39 degrees F today and something must have thawed out, because the passive entry works now! Not sure what was froze... Thanks for all the replies!
