Need help!!!!
So i have a 1999 ram 2500 5.9 gas. Recently the PCM/ECM went out and I have found o e out of a 01 with same motor and transmission, and as lo a 4wheel drive, everything the same except the year model.
So my question is this, will I need to have my Vin programmed into this donor PCM? If so, what would be my best option for programming or is this something that can be done at my local mechanic shop?
Any information will be great and thanks ahead of time for taking y'alls time for helping a fellow dodge lover.

From my research, i find that you DO NOT have to input the VIN number into the PCM. and of course you'll want to go to a good tuner and have your tune cleaned and pepped up. if the VIN number is required to be installed they can do it at that time.or you should be able to do that with a hand Tuner if necessary.
