Without my fogs on, I can see what you guys mean. (see what I did there?). :)

Fogs on makes a world of difference. I also aimed mine up a bit to closely match the cutoff of my lows. The fogs do glare a bit, the cutoff isn't much of a cutoff. Other drivers haven't flashed though.

If you read, i said worst truck or car i owned not ever made. There's a || bit of difference.

And ya'll know, foglights are supposed to be used in fog not all the time? So if youre using your foglights all the time, you're doing it wrong. Or the regular lights arent sufficient for you - AND THERES THE PROBLEM HERE </closethread>

I'm guessing you're a city truck driver who lives somewhere that doesn't get snow. If you drove your truck at night in the country outside of the suburbs, in winter, you'd have figured out how nice it is to have fogs on because they increase the spread and help light up immediately ahead better as well in those conditions. Especially if oncoming traffic is just a bit too frequent to use hi beams.

Or you could install HIDs. Except not everyone feels they need to go spend $1000 on retros when pushing a button that's already there works for them for free. Shocking, I know.

I upgraded all my lights and add some more LED truck lights cause you can never be too sure when youre going to need it and it looks mean as hell on my truck

I find no problem on rural road with my stock quads and fogs , city driving is a different matter that I find bad

Add LED bulbs for less then 100 dollars and bam. Beats any new ford or chevy! This is a good 50 yards stock tinted quad headlights.

I use brighter sylvania's in my quad halogens and replace them once/year because bulbs degrade over time. When I'm on unlit country roads where the oncoming traffic is a little too frequent for hi-beams I turn the foglights on for additional lighting. It's worked quite well for $75/year :)

I have a 16 ram with the halogen bulbs. My high beams suck bad. I would love to go with HID but A) dont want to put more money into a brand new truck for good lights and B) dont feel i should have to do that with a $40,000 truck. I would love to be able to just swap high beam bulbs. Is it that easy as just swapping bulbs? If so, what is a good bulb to swap out? Bulb # would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Philips Crystal Vision Ultras are good. That's what I have in my high beams. If you really want a difference, look for an HID or LED replacement.

Any headlights will degrade drastically on a wet road. The water on the road makes it more of a smooth flat surface causing the light to reflect at a similar angle away from you.

Now do not start with light refraction/reflection theories! :roflsquared:

Get me some new headlights! These are awful at night in wet weather, luckily Florida we only have that half the year.

Going on 52 in a month and without glasses I am at 20:220 and 20:200 with glasses, they are 20:40 and 20:60. I am told that I will not have my license to much longer but any who onto the lights on my R/T, strangely I find them more than adequate on my travels. I have never driven the Ford or Chevy/Gmc so I can't say how their headlights rate. In the survey RAM seemed to fair better than many other brands so there's that, just sayin.

Dumbest statement ever.

Fog lights are just the name everyone uses..true fog lights are not white..Normal light color is basically dingy yellow or white which reflects back at you in fog...Thats where YELLOW comes in...Hence true fog light..

Lol....there's always that one guy.

What, are we in England? You go to England and fog lights mean something totally different. They call our "fog" lights driving lights. It's all semantics. People, like me, who live out in the country use the fog lights for two reasons. They throw a nice wide beam pattern to light up the sides of the road to help see the damn stupid deer. The 2nd reason is that more lights should help keep other drivers from over looking you at intersection, etc. I guess there's a 3rd reason....because I f'ing want them on. :)

Saw the news report and considered I have not really done any night driving so I couldn't judge for myself if there was anything to it. But recently I had to do a 80 mile trip up through some curvy mountain roads at night. How were the stock headlights on my '14 Ram?
Very Good in my opinion. Could they be brighter? Yes, could they have more periphery view? Yes,
but to complain they are BAD, that is total BS.
One thing I noticed is the person they interview was some old codger. Let me tell you this; when you are elderly YOU CAN HARDLY SEE AT NIGHT. You need an arc lamp to see well.
I think much of this has to do with whiny old people.

I just count my blessings that most cars here dont have rear "fogs" . :roflsquared:

It's humorous when people ***** about their headlights. Want bad? Drive a 2nd gen Dodge especially without sport lights. I feel like my Ram has pretty good lights for halogens. I'm a professional driver though so maybe I've learned to work with less than optimal lighting through experience.

I agree I grew up with sealed beam head lights from the sixties and seventies, I think the factory halogens are great, I can see 10 times as far as I could in the old days.
