Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS Double Din Touch Screen Head Unit

Hi Gents -

I'm selling my Pioneer AVH-X500BHS as it didn't integrate well with my Alpine factory system. It has a five star rating on both Crutchfield and Amazon. The head unit works perfectly and is literally only a month old. It is very sharp looking and will work awesome with any after-market or non-Alpine system. It comes with:

• All original accessories & box
• CHTO-03 Wiring Harness (if needed - free)
• Pioneer iPod/iPhone Digital Connecton Cable
• Mounting Hardware for 2010 (2009+ I believe) Ram Dash
• It also has a bypass relay wired into it that allows you to use all features while driving!!!!
• Steering wheel controls are not included with this, you'll have to purchase separately if you want it.

The head unit, as I said, is literally one month old and has no defects of any kind. If you need the CHTO-03 harness, I can send it pre-wired as I had it in my truck. In addition, the iPod cable is $75.00 but I am throwing it in for free so I can sell the entire package. I would much rather sell it here to someone with a Ram than have to divide the package up.

Ignore the dates - one was taken the day before I removed it from the truck and the ones taken on the 30th I didn't have 50 posts yet so couldn't post in here.

Like I said, I'd rather it go to someone in one package with a Ram than have to put it on EBay all seperated.

Just curious what the problem was with the Alpine integration.

The Alpine system has a factory pre-programmed amplifier in it that has one channel for each of the ten speakers. The amp cannot be reprogrammed and it is only set for the factory Chrysler head units which have digital audio processors in them. The head unit will work very well if you don't have the Alpine system.

Now, don't get me wrong, it sounded fine. However, at high volumes with heavy bass loads the speakers and the amp weren't able to properly process the highs and lows to the proper speakers. It is just the amp configuration with the factory setup. It would have required me to put in a new amp and modify a few of the speakers as well as adding in a digital processor.

I ended up getting an RBZ unit and put that in instead and that works great with the Alpine system.
