Hey guys, just bought a 95 Ram I'm working on fixing up, and the exterior needs some serious work. Has anyone used plasti dip to paint their whole car black? Does this look stupid? Right now its red and pealing so I can't see how anything can look worse than that.

If the paint is peeling all you really need to do is sand it a bit and dip it.

Thats what I was thinking. Wasn't really sure if it would look good or if anyone on this forum has done their whole truck before. I guess black would look best.

I've seen plasti'd vehicles before, it's all in the prep. If you don't get that peeling paint/rust off the truck before you dip it, yeah, it'll look like complete crap. lol Plasti is just like any other paint: its finish is all in the prep.

Got it, I'll make sure to get rid of that crap. Got a good deal of work to do this this bad boy, but the engine and trans is in good shape.

I have plastidip the bottom of my truck. It is all in the prep and light coats. I have used about 6 cans. No stripes no nothing.

I think that is exactly how I would wanna do my truck, I have these darn chrome panels down the sides of my truck, chrome bumpers, chrome tailgate panel.

My rims are black, dark window tint plastic panels are black on my truck as well. Wanna get rid of the chrome.

I dipped my grill, side mirrors, emblems and door handles. Also did some interior. Works good. I used the Glossifier on some of it and it looks pretty good. They also have a spray that you apply after it is all dry and it gives it a more slick feel instead of it being grippy. I have not used the spray yet.

I plan on doing my lower panels, front bumper, grille, and rear bumper when I get home. I have already done my wheels and emblems and it has held up for 2 years.
