Has anyone done it? Can it be done without the sensors going off?

Do you have the buttons to deactivate them? Mine does.

Well crap I didn't think about that. I'm about 99% sure it does. But I like using the sensors lol

I highly doubt they will function correctly dipped. Mine got a thin coating of ice on them this winter and started malfunctioning to the point that the truck recognized the issue and deactivated them automatically.

What's that? Like a vinyl wrap?

Nvm. Just looked it up. Looks like it's just like plastidip?

But they're chrome. That's what I'm trying to get rid of. Unless someone has the part number to the black sensors

Might actually look ok if the bumper is blacked out and the small sensors were left chrome.

I messaged Benny and asked how much replacements are and he said 75/each[emoji33] Then he also said plastidip shouldn't affect it. I'm gonna find out!

Plastidip should definitely screw them up. Even the thinnest layer of ice messes them up, and ice is transparent!

Did it today and have no issues with the sensors! There's about 10 coats of dip and glossifier on it. db737a53d31e1c853e780b5add7a886e.jpg

Did mine about a year ago. Have put two more coats on since then. No issues at all. Works perfect.

I had mine painted on my old 2500. They still worked perfectly for the year or so that I had the truck. imagejpg1_zpsf127c59a.jpg

looks awesome. i am going to do the same to mine, all the chrome is starting to get to me. especially after shopping for wheels and tires, some blacking out will also be in order.

It should work. If I'm not mistaken they are radar sensors and the signal should propagate through.

Water/ice will interfere/reflect the signal.
