Please help

I have a 04 dodge ram 1500 won't run lighting bolt came on lost all power shut it down now i have all lights but nothing when I turn key on I know nothing on vehicles anyway I had mechanic look at it he tried 3 different units that plug in to vehicles code readers I'm guessing all 3 say not readable or something to that effect no codes are coming up so he says he did some other test and determined the computer under battery he says is bad I don't know what the name is can't get back in touch with this guy I guess it needs to be calibrated to my truck can anyone give me some advice I just bought this truck and really want to try and get some help I'm not stupid and can follow directions please some one give me some clues thanks

First I would check the grounding system with a test light, (these beasts are known for grounding issues causing a lot of weird stuff to happen) if that passes then I would check fuses for the alarm cause if I’m not mistaken, the lightning bolt is the immo system. But in all reality, it could be a number of things like the ignition switch or multifunction switch, etc etc.
