So I noticed these two hard bubbles (tried pushing and won't break paint) above passenger side rear wheel. Is this the awful bed rust starting?!?!

Now I am getting both sides of my bed sanded down and repainted due to rust on both sides. The rust though on this side is at the bottom of wheel well which is no where near this, but they are sanding down whole side they said and repainting.

Welp, it's either a paint bubble you never noticed, and no one ever noticed, it the Dodge rust starting.

I'm leaning towards the latter.

Depends on if you are going to keep the truck.
Unfortunately the 3G's build up rust there pretty bad, and it's not an easy fix either.

Poor design on Dodge's part.

Well I sadly am not in the market for a new one. Still young and in school and don't have all the funds for that lol. I do love this body style but hate that dreadful rust it gets there. I went to several body shops and one was telling me about how they build rust up there which I knew so we got to talking. He told me the only way to prevent this is do take the panel off, undo some welding on the inside, sand/seal/prime/paint then reweld everything back on. Is this true? He was saying to do all that would be an outrageous price.

I look at vehicles from the north all the time and trust me it is not just a Dodge thing. All makes and models rust like crazy from the salt used on the roads in the winter. I am always glad that I live down south when I see how bad the rust gets. If I ever live up north I will probably just lease vehicles so that I get a new one right before rust starts causing problems.

Mine just started with a few bubbles also. But I see so many trucks up here with rust. Thing is I am trying to find a diffrent truck. But the Used market on dodge is silly in price.

I just noticed a few bubbles a few weeks ago. I am actually going to try to repair myself. I am waiting on a sander and a buffer, then I will begin.

This is only practice, and How I see it, if I mess up too bad, I will just add fender flares to cover.

I looked again, and these bubbles are getting bad fast. Hopefully, next weekend I will have some time to take care of one side.
