I upgraded the speakers in my boat over the summer and now I've got two pair of these Polk components just sitting in the garage and figured I may as well see if they can fit in my truck. The rear mounting depth is 2.625" and the front depth looks to be an inch maybe slightly less. I think I'm ok on the rear depth but I'm worried about the tweeter/grill clearing the door panel. I haven't tried to pull a door panel off yet to see how it look, what do you guys think?

I have the same Polk speakers in my Air Nautique....I don't think they sound very good but if you want to try to fit them into your truck, go for it.

Those should be 2.3 ohm speakers that handle 100+ watts. I would not run them off the headunit.

The dimensions suggest it would fit. But if they are 2.3 ohm they wont sound good unless you got an alpine system.

The magnet on the back of the speaker shows 3 ohm. I have the standard system. What would be the ideal ohm rating for replacement speakers?

4 ohm up to 50 watts off the factory deck. The polk say they do the lower ohm to compensate for small factory wiring which would cause your source to see closer to 4 ohm. But i think by trying to give them enough juice, it will cause the deck to clip and sound bad. People seem to like kicker, jbl and infinity for factory replacements. I prefer silk tweets over metal. Generally sound more natural.
