I had a killer deal on a used moes ported TB, but my truck is a 2010 and the electronics wont work. Has anyone here dynoed their truck before and after? Reason i ask, is I added a cai, bjgger TB, and gained zero rwhp.
I would like to see some proof before i drop some coin. I want to have everything i need before i get a custom tune from greene. Thanks.

A CAI and ported TB will likely add very minimal power, you’ll need a tune to take advantage of it.

I Have not had a Dyno so I have no numbers to prove anything. my baseline was 15.7 ET . I put a vararam cai and moes tb also no gain at the strip. Then I added arh headers and Borla cat back exhaust then a 14.7 ET. So I am told that headers would not lower ET by a full second. So the tb and the cai had to help .

All I noticed from the 87mm TB is a slight improvement in throttle response and logging really only showed a difference at part throttle. I know Jay recommends Fastman true ported TB's with bigger butterflies, but I already had 2 of the 87MM 13+ from Moes so that's what he tuned for on my 6.4 Chally (Ram is using a Pulsar for now). For what I paid for them I can't complain at all, but its not a fully ported TB and uses the stock butterfly.

Yeah all i have heard is better throttle response, and almost no HP gain. The 5 hp that was gained wasnt much considering it was a new Z06 vette. I didnt expect much of a hp gain just by adding 5mm to a TB. So on our motors we would be lucky to gain 1 hp. Iooks like I will save my money for a cusom tune from greene.

I have a MMX ported 87 on my 6.4 Charger. Same as said above it is a factory Mopar TB with stock butterfly, ported to match the factory intake manifold. This is good for stealth if warranty matters to you. I can tell you better throttle response was instantly noticeable on the stock car (no tune). It took me a few days to get completely used to the new response and re-adjust my pedal effort. This was done back in the summer when it was still very hot out. A tune would make the car a real monster. Between the TB, Hellcat intake and cold Fall air I can hardly ever get on it at all in day to day driving or I’m just doing a burn out/risking jail. The car also seems to pull much stronger up over 100MPH. Before tuning I would absolutely need some Nitto triple 5’s.

Not an apples to apples comparison between a 6.4 Charger and a 5.7 Ram but I could vouch for the fact that they do improve throttle response even without a tune. Worth it or not is up to you.
