I have been monitoring this for a while now and I was hoping it was just residual from oil changes but I don't think it is. It appears to be leaking from the nut on the bottom of the rack but I'm not 100% sure. I have been cleaning it and hoping for the best but it doesn't look to be good. Is this a normal spot for it to leak? Is it fixable or does it have to be replaced? I don't see any lines leaking but that doesn't mean there isn't one. It doesn't leave drops on the garage floor. What are some good indications of a rack and pinion failure besides the obvious leak?

I'd be willing to bet its leaking from the hose clamp on the return hose, not that bolt. Try just tightening the clamp first. I think there is also an O-ring under that bolt that could be changed if needed.
