For the last month my passage side mirror decides to stop folding out randomly. The motor is working OK and after resetting the mirror(folding in and then manually opening then folding the mirror) it will work for a few days before it getting stuck. Anyone else experience this issue? Not really sure what to do from here.

I haven't had a chance to actually remove the mirror housing but even then, not sure what I would look for.

Any suggestions on what I should be looking for that may cause this?

Thanks.

Something that you might try

There is a panel in the mirror housing

go to Harbor Freight or Auto Parts store & get a set of plastic trim tools, there are many places to use them on our Rams
Then Being very careful, find a place to pry the cover plate off

If money is tight, use a straight slot screwdriver & wrap the blade with tape to protect the plastic

This is from a NON power folding mirror, but i think the mirror pivots on something like this

Maybe spray some Silicone on it

Thanks for the info. I'm going to try checking that this weekend.

If you are in a cold climate, Suggest it might be freezing water. If you wash your truck then it's outside the water in the mirror will freeze and cause restrictions to folding.

Park inside or wait till a day that is warmer then spray with wd40 or something similar

Mine does it after washing and parking outside duringcoldweather, one night in garage, it goes away

Not too many freezing temperature days here so I doubt that's causing the issues. We were in the low 70s today and it refused to work. I tried opening the housing but it was not as easy as prying it open. I had to remove the mirror and 3 torx screws holding the housing and mirror cap together. Nothing looked damaged or out of place. I'm guessing my next step is to replace the motor or source another mirror to test out instead.

Your mirror is easy enough to disassemble
The tricky part is removing the mirror glass
