I've ordered a 2019 Longhorn and one of the groups includes power running boards. Just wondering if any members have them and if there are any problems. Love to hear the positives as well if any.

I have them on mine along with the air suspension. First set of power boards I have had but have always had nerf bars or steps of some kind on my pickup. I really like the power boards. They come down lower than a regular step and make it easier to get in the cab. I am a big guy and they have very little flex. You can turn them on or off from the cab. Only problem I could see would in the winter possible icing up but have been told they will automatically shut off in that case. I would get them again.

I have them on my Limited and love them also. Nothing negative yet.
My wife loves them more than me because as stated above, they are lower than standard steps and it makes it so much easier for her to get in and out.

Power running boards are great. When not being used they tuck up tight out of the way from getting hung up on anything.

Curious if anyone has owned AMP and the factory power steps, and if so how they compare quality wise. I have heard nothing but great reviews and feedback about AMP steps along with great customer service. They are however around $1700 installed =/- vs factory add on of $1000 (if i remember correctly). So going factory would be a good savings. Concern however would be FCA / Ram customer service vs Amp's.

I was looking at them at the dealership and they look identical to the AMP Research power step. I can't confirm.

If you're in a warm climate or strictly pavement the power boards are great. Drop lower than regular steps so it's easier to get in and out and they tuck away nicely. Only issue is in colder areas slush or mud if you're off pavement tends to get on them and freeze and they stay stuck up or down depending where they are when they freeze.

I have had them on a couple vehicles and have had friends that had/have them. Not saying it doesn't happen but we never had an issue with that in the north east. It definitely is possible but maybe in areas with worse winters than we have in the north east?

How would these behave vs power fold mirrors? Living in NY there's a good chunk of winter that I can't use the power fold function because everything is frozen. I always kind of assumed these would be similar. Unrelated but that was my first thought when I saw a MB that had a drop down rear view cam, so when it wasn't in use it wouldn't be visible. All I could think was that you wouldn't have a backup cam most of winter around here as it would likely be frozen in place.
