I have a 2018 ram 3500 tradesman. Has anyone replaced their manual seat with a power seat? If so how hard was it?

If you are only interested in making the power adjust and lumbar work you will need to make sure you get a seat from a 13 to 18 Ram. The 09 to 12 seats are wired differently. All you will need to do is run a constant 12v to the solid red wire in the yellow seat connector. The power adjust will usually work just by adding that wire but most guys run a ground wire to the solid black wire in the same connector just to make sure they don't have any issues. Most guys run a fused wire from the battery directly to the seat. Just another note we have also figured out how to add heated/vented memory seats to tradesman and express trucks. M2mods who us vendor on the forum actually makes a plug and play conversion harness. Of course you would also need to enable all the correct codes in the BCM with the Alfa tool which is also easy. The whole system will work exactly as a factory equipped truck. Myself and many others have done it and it works perfectly. You might not want all that but I thought I should mention it before you purchased your seats. One other thing I forgot to mention is your power adjust seat may also have a 20 pin grey connector next to the yellow seat connector. If your truck doesn't have the corresponding grey connector it's fine. That connector is for other options heated/vented and memory functions your truck doesn't currently have.

They are in the vendor section on the forum. Mike D (Deer Guy) and Mike G (Mpgrimm2) started the company together to help out fellow members. Their harnesses are second to none they are well made fit perfectly and look factory. Mike D makes the seat harnesses but recently posted on their site that due to his job requirements he is no longer going to be able to make the seat harnesses. He had a few left at the time he posted but he will no longer make them. You can check his website KaodTech.com and see if he has any left. I believe Mike G stated he will be possibly taking over the seat harness duties but he is also very busy building there other harnesses for the 8.4 conversion ATC harnesses ect. First thing I would recommend is checking the KaodTech website and see if he has any left. If he doesn't you can contact M2mods on their paige and see if there is a way you can get one made. No one other than them build this harness. It was invented in this forum by myself, OO/RT and Deerguy. You can learn about it a little more in my the thread I posted (How to add Heated/Ventelated seats and Heated wheel to Express/Tradesman. I built my own harness originally and did it as simply as I could just to see if it worked and it did. Deerguy perfected the harness and started making them for members. I have since removed my harness and installed his. We also have full memory functions working now when we didn't originally. One other thing to note is the ventelated seats will not work unless you have or install the 8.4 radio.
