Power Steering Hose

Anyone know how hard it is to replace a power steering hose? Ive been leaking power steering for a while now and ive been getting by but im just wanting it replaced now.

It's not hard, I had both off when I did a new steering box. You just have to unbolt the ones from the pump with a line wrench if you have one. And then on the steering box. And then your good to go. I put a little Teflon tap around the threads if I can, just for reassurance.

It would probly onto take you 30 mins and new steering fluid to do them both.

How big of a mess can I expect? lol

I mean if you take off one of the hoses and let most of it drain out into a container then you won't have a very big mess, just probably a couple drips and stuff. Haha

It's a good 45 minute job with clean up and making sure everything is tight. MAKE SURE you put the o-ring on the gear box side or you'll have a bigger leak than what you started with.

Yea what he said^ hopefully the new hose comes with a new ring.

Mine came with a little pack with four of them. That was for the gear though. You would think the hoses would come with them though.

Yea when I got a new box it came with 4 also.
