My son has a new 18 2500 cummins offroad , I have to say it is as fine a riding truck as any on the road and one reason I went back to look at Ram to replace my Tacoma .
Congratulations. I bought a 2018 tradesman with the power wagon package a couple weeks ago. I love it. My wife has a tough time getting in it. Checking out boards now. Tough decision without seeing them on actual truck first.
Finally got this beast back home! I flew from Phoenix to San Antonio to get it. I was pretty specific with what I wanted so there were not many options. I wanted a 2015 or 2016 (price reasons), white, and under 40k miles. So this was the perfect match. 2016 Power Wagon Tradesman with only 26k miles. It made for a nice little road trip driving it back home. I was really surprised how well it rides being a 3/4 ton, given the softer Power Wagon suspension. I love the way it drives for such a big truck. 6.4 Hemi feels great with the 4.10s. I can't compare it to my RC 1500 with 4.56s, but I am very happy with it. I have an off road trip to Crown King this Saturday and can not wait. If anyone here is from AZ, I'm sure you know about it as it's a very popular trail here.
Taking the back way in I assume? Is it doable with those tires? I haven't been through there in a few years and we had a lifted Jeep.
No, I'll be with at least one other guy with a Jeep.
How did it do? Anything sketchy?
My buddy wasn't able to go so I went up to Sedona and did Broken Arrow Trail. Rated as a "difficult" trail, but the power wagon did it with ease all in 4 High. I didn't even get to play with the lockers or sway bar disconnect. There are a lot of big ledges to climb up on and I'm pretty sure I didn't get a single tire chirp. I was pretty amazed. Whenever I end up needing lockers and sway bar disconnect, I'm sure that's going to be a sketchy situation but looking forward to it. Hopefully I'll end up doing Crown King within the next few weeks.
Nice looking trail, and it's been on my list for awhile, just not brave enough to rock a stock height 1500 down it, I'll wait for the lift kit.
