If any of you have a power wagon or know the answer to this, I'd love to know.

When a Power Wagon comes from the factory it has a factory winch in it, correct? Ok so the questions I have are.

1) Is your bumber different from my 2500 laramie?

2) If the bumber is the same, how is it mounted with enough space to hide a winch behind it. :weld:

3) What is the strength rating of the factory winch?

I want to install a front winch and love the way the factory mounted one in the power wagon. Any help you guys can give is greatly appreciated. I tried to find a thread on this with no luck. If any of you have pics of the way the winch is mounted I would love to see it. Thanks in advance.

Yup, it's a 12k lbs Warn unit that fits snugly in behind the front bumper.

I believe the bumpers are the same, as the brush guard that I mounted would fit all 4th gen trucks and the opening is the same .

It is an awesome tool and I now feel "naked" going out into the great outdoors without one.

Here is the web page for it; Warn Industries - The Ram Power Wagon's WARN winch

Attached is a close up pic of it with the brush guard on there.

If needed, I guess I could try crawling up under there and snapping some shots, though it is snugly hidden away.

Wow that's awesome. Thanks for the info. According to that article the winch drum rotates opposite from the standard winch. I wonder if the design is the same other than that. I'm wondering if the M12000 fits... Other than that I would need the mounting hardware.

I would think so. I think the only reason the drum rotates "backwards" was because they had to "flip" the unit to get the rollers centered causing the motor to be on the other side, which just happened to be the opposite side of how the Winch was first designed.

Hope that helps. If you need something else specific, let me know and I'll see if I can get a shot of it or help answer those questions.
