Hey fellas, first post (aside from my intro the other day)

No dead horse beating here as I know it has already been done.
Ive scoured this forum, and many others, as read the sticky that was incredible.

I fully intend on going with the Bilsteins in the spring, but I have a caribou hunt coming up and need to slap some new rubber on my stock 1500 4th gen.

I will be getting some AT2 xtremes from toyo (wonderful tire for just about everything i can think of, and handles Alaska roads really well) in 285/75R17s very soon. I know that since these sit at about 33.8 high and 11.2 wide they will fit no issue with the leveling kit, but with hunting season fast approaching im not sure i can get the kit delivered and done in time.

If i get some 17x8s with a -6mm to -12mm offset BEFORE i get the lift, do you guys think ill rub? Im shopping for wheels now and measured what shouldnt rub with the level, but want to make sure that I wont before it can get done (and dont want to pass up a good caribou in the process!)

Thanks in advance guys!

Bump.

Current wheels I have put in my shopping cart are 17x9 with a +0 offset and sticking with the 285/75R 17 so far.
If anyone has suggestions or experience if this will fit pre-leveling kit please chime in.
I feel confident it should fit, but with shipping costs to Alaska I want to make sure i got it right the first time lol

I'm running this exact set up and I am only 1 inch above stock. I don't have any rubbing anywhere and it looks like I have space. If you are really concerned you could pick up some wheel spacers just for the interim time between the wheels/tires and the leveling kit. A 1/2 inch spacer would put you at a -12. This is a picture of my front tire before I swapped out my bumper.

That's fantastic, thank you!
I really think it will be just fine but always want to make sure before i dole out big $$ for shipping if it doesnt work out. Shipping cost for each wheel to AK can sometimes be the same cost as the wheel!

Thanks Mauzz, much appreciated

Thanks again for your help, got the tires and wheels all set up and looks great! No rubbing at all, even at full lock on a banked driveway. Looks tight but actually has pretty good turning clearance so far. Going on a caribou hunt this weekend so I will get a good chance to see what the clearance is like when the suspension is articulated.

Nice to see a fellow Alaskan on here! Even rarer to find one here in Fairbanks. Good luck with the hunt!

Are you up in Fairbanks Bloak? And I've seen a couple Alaskans on here but not super common lol

The hunt was unsuccessful, caribou haven't really entered the zone unless you fly in, and I'm just looking for an atv hunt but they aren't in range yet. Season closed soon so I may be without a 40 mile caribou, maybe I'll look for a moose lol

Truck handles great! After having 10 ply on my last truck, I'll never go back. Got the same rubber as last time and absolutely love it. And I have not had a single moment of rubbing without the level sitting on 34x11.50 yet

Glad the tires worked out for you. Ya, I'm here in Fairbanks. Stoked for winter to arrive and the first snow! I'll have to keep an eye out for you.

Im excited for first snow too, hitting 30s at night so early into September is a good sign I hope. Hope it's certainly better than last year. Hitting some off road trails in the snow is awesome and last year was lacking snow cover quite a bit

I'm in the process of de-chroming my truck so hopefully it'll stand out more than the hundred other dark grey and chromy dodges lol. I'll send a pic on here when it's all done

Should look pretty sharp! I'm easy to spot due to the camo stripe and non matching camper. I plan on peeling off the camo vinyl next summer and painting the topper to match.
