Been trying for three days to get this thing to update...

Superchips Flashpaq 3865

#1 Not mac compatiable "BLAH
#2 Using my work laptop with windows 7,
I've turned off the firewall settings,
Hardwired into my router,
tried every usb port on my laptop,
Called customer service, and they are telling me to use a desktop, "REALLY !!!! a desktop..do they even make those anymore :baby:...
I'm starting to second guesse the quality of this product, let alone I'm just good and irritated at the moment :shooter:
uninstalled software and reinstalled it,
Rebooted like a million times and this piece of crap still want update, Just says analyzing hardware..

If I can't get this thing to update by the end of the day I'm taking it back to 4wheel parts.

Ok RANT OVER !! Any suggestion, Anything would be appreciated

Did you first let the Flashpaq read your stock settings then update it? That is a must, 2nd it's well advertised and common knowledge not to use Mac with SC also work computers are never the best choice because they are usually well protected through networks etc..... Like they said, let paq read stock calibration and use a home type computer to update.

I only want to recalibrate my speedo, and change the tire size, Really don't care about changing any performance options maybe tweak some things for better MPG's, Is this tuner going to be able to accommodate those for me? Or should I look at another option?

Thanks for the replies,

ramunit- Are you saying to go ahead and plug it into the truck and allow it to read first, then install updates? If so I havent tried this yet?

Yes, try that. Even if you don't get an update for some reason it should be good to go right out of the package for anything, especially speedo and tire size calibration.

One other thing to check. If it has an option for communication speed (baud rate) try the different settings.

changed the tire size and put the Fuel economy program on it, computer is telling me 14.8 MPG right now, We will see if I just wasted three hundred bucks or not LOL if I don't see any changes I will probably take the programmer back and spend that money on the finishing touches for my system...

outlawtrucker= I pulled the trigger, it was a stupid great deal and has hardly been driven or used for that matter.
The guy had seat covers over the leather, weather tech mats over the original dodge mats and the entire truck is in showroom condition. It was an older gentleman I purchased it from. Took it to the dodge dealer to have everything checked out and the guy commented and said was it ever used the under carriage has no dirt or signs of wear LOL I feel really good about the purchase. I bought this one for far less then a 2012 SLT

I ran a SC tuner in my 99 for 3 years and I've had a SC cortex in this one for over a year and a half with no problems updating. I just updated mine actually on Saturday for the first time in a year, lol. Maybe you just got a bad tuner? I'd take it back and exchange it as a faulty unit and see if a new one works right. Just be sure to set your truck back to stock before exchanging it otherwise that'll make for a fun time, lol.

And Superchips servers could be down. I had that issue once. I love my Superchips.
