2500 6.4L Hemi 4.10's 'Off-Road'
Son has been trying to get a day off to go look at this truck now for a couple months. He is almost 5 hours away from the dealer but it's only about 2 hours from here. The truck is a new 2018 Big Horn Cummins. I think it is called the 'Sport' package with all white body and black wheels. It says the MSRP is $66,100. He probably only qualifies for about 1/2 of the rebates so probably looking at about $59,000 with rebates. What kind of price should he expect to get this for? He is hoping to stay at about $50,000. The problem is he works 6 days a week about 12-14 hours a day so he can't shop around and has to do everything in one day. He is getting married in October and has all of his vacation scheduled already and they are talking about reassigning him possibly over 1000 miles away so needs it to get his camper from place to place (he lives in the camper). I have been towing it but can't go that far. He will probably need it before the end of this month. He tried finding a used on but they are only a few thousand less than a new one with 30,000 miles on them so used is pretty much out. He said if he has to he will go Tradesman but he drives about 30,000-40,000 miles a year so wants some creature comforts. Plus he works out of his truck alot so really wants the full console for all of his stuff. The Tradesmans don't offer the full console.

Right now he is near Altoona, PA if anyone knows of any in that area. He hasn't had any luck finding one out that way.

Well he talked to them today and the absolute bottom line price out the door was $59,000 on that truck. He has no trade in so no numbers to be manipulated there.

You can easily go out the door at 10-15% under MSRP (approx $56k) so use that as a starting point. Being an '18, I cant imagine not being able to get that really close to $50k.

For what it's worth, I just bought a 2018 2500 Laramie with the sport appearance pkg. All the goodies on it, leather, sun roof, diesel, etc. Bright white w/black accents. It had 33 (yes, thirty three) miles on the odo. I paid $58,000 even for it (before my trade figured in) out the door. Bought it at dealer in NW Oregon. Did I pay a good price, maybe or not. Still, I was happy with it.

I was thinking he could get it close to $50k but he said they told him that was as low as they would go. Problem is with his work situation he won't even drive to that dealer now. So he is now thinking about possibly a new 2500 with a 6.4 or a slightly used Cummins but those are very hard to find around here. The other option would be a Tradesman but as much time as he spends in his truck and working out of it he really wants the full console. His company truck is full with his work supplies.

I picked up my 18 megacab limited with the 6.4 for 49k in October from Horsham Chapman auto down near Philadelphia. MSRP on it was 66k the dealer had it discounted 10k and I qualified for another 7k in FCA rebates. I would have him check it out as I lived 3 hours away as well up in the very northern part of PA and worked out the deal with a trade in via email. I was in and out in about 2 hours total time.

when i was looking around a while ago, many people commented abiut koons tyson ram in virginia being a good no bs take it or leave it pricing (good pricing). this was more about the 1500 but never know. just an email away. also when i used to frequent the cummins forum they spoke highly of a guy named indy truck champion or something like that. works for a dealer but gives awesome pricing and will bring the truck to you. i have never seen pricing from him, but many happy customers.

I’ll have to check out Koons in Tyson’s next time I buy. The best deals I’ve found in NOVA are in the south end at Lustine Dodge in Woodbridge. Don’t get me wrong. In order to get the advertised price at Lustine you better walk in with gloves on, roided, and ready to fight... The buying process at Lustine is a complete nightmare.. Their service department is even worse!! Which is why I switched to Safford Dodge in Springfield for service.

I wish I lived closer to Lindsey Dodge in Manassas. They are the only ones in the area with the highest awards Diemler Chrysler has to offer and the best reviews.

Looks like they lowered the price some its at 54k right now

And that's how they get you in there... That's if you qualify for all available discounts.

* Disclosure: Offer available to all consumers for the dealers assigned market area in Ohio. This offer reflects dealer discount and all manufacturer applicable rebates, incentives, and/or bonus cash. No other contingencies required to get this advertised price. Offer applies to in-stock new vehicles only, does not apply to prior transactions. Advertised offer excludes tax, title, registration fees, and a $250 documentary service charge. Offer listed reflects sale prices for purchases, not leases. Lease rebates and or incentives may be different. All rebates to dealer. Dealer contribution may affect consumer cost. Offer cannot be combined with any other advertised offers. See Dealer for complete details.

If everyone on this site keeps clicking on the link they might raise the price due to web traffic! 92 views in last 30 days. Just sayin.

Yep. It was listed at $54 for awhile now but he doesn't qualify for most rebates. Doubt anybody qualifies for all rebates so likely nobody could buy that truck for $54k.

I bought mine in May and before that looked at a brand new 2018 2500 Laramie. It was listed on the website for $48k but they told me the best they could do for me was $53k.

He is thinking about going with a 6.4 now. The depreciation is going to be tough but $55k is just out of his budget. He found a 2016 2500 Laramie Cummins today with about 45,000 miles on it for $46k. It had 2 accidents listed on its carfax. He talked to them a few times today and they tried to tell him they had $46k in it and couldn't drop it anymore than that. With 2 accident reports that truck is worth $40k tops so either they are lying or they are the worst dealer in the country.

He is trying to go with the Cummins cause he drives about 30,000-40,000 miles a year and a gasser will depreciate pretty bad in 2 years with that many miles but he might not have a choice at this point. They told him there is a good chance he will be going to a site 1500 miles away at the end of this month and have to take his camper so he has to do something quick.

What about a lower trim level? I just bought a brand new 2018 crew cab 4x4 Cummins tradesman for 42k

If you are worried about resale, I would think the Tradesman Cummins would be better than the 6.4 Hemi Laramie in the 3/4 ton. But I may be kinda biased!

He thought about the Tradesman but he spends about 6-8 hours a day in it and thinks having more creature comforts would be nice. He also sometimes has to transport a worker and they can be pretty dirty so leather seats would be nice for cleaning but he also understands even a Hemi with leather will be pricey so he might have to settle for cloth and get a seat cover.

I bought mine from a used car dealer with just under 8000 miles. That same dealer has an identical truck in a different color with 12,000 miles for $40k. He might call about that one. He called his bank last night to get pre-approved to see what he can get. In the past year he has bought a house, his camper, and his fiancees 2019 Crosstrek, plus he has student loans so he isn't sure if he can even get a decent rate. Add to that they are getting married in 3 months and they are spending quite a bit on that. So he is waiting until he hears back from them to make a decision.

Specifically what he wants is the full console. He needs that for all of his stuff that he carries. He found a 2016 2500 Cummins with 20,000 miles for $46k. Sounds like a pretty good deal but they don't have a link to the Carfax on their site so I told him to tell them that he wants to see that.

And he got his pre-approval so good to go there.
