I am researching what this wire in the bed is for, it appears to run down and connect to the body harness and is a red wire. I've only had this truck less than 2 years now and still discovering things. 2013 sport.

I don't believe the trucks came with factory bed lights til the '16 or '17 model years, and don't think prior years BCM supported the factory bed lights. Also the factory bed lights would be in that back corner of the bed.
I would trace the wires down below the bed, it could have been a disconnect for a third brake light on a topper.

that is my guess. oem does not use sae plugs that I have ever seen.

Check and see if you are getting voltage. Full time or with just lights on.
