Every now and then, maybe once a week, my truck will have the check engine light come on and when I go to accelerate it does a real jerky motion. Once I get going a little faster it doesn't do it. Also when my Rpms start to fall they go all the way to 0 and my engine will shut off. This will only happens all together so if its jerky I know the engine is going to shut off with low rpms, since it only happens every now and then i have no idea what it could be any ideas on how to fix this?

My suggestion would be to hook a code reader up to it and see what if any CEL's it gives you. Go from there. You can go to most auto stores and get this done free.

Yea I was planning on doing that but the problem is the engine light usually shuts off by the time I can take it up there ha but if its still on I'm going to take it tomorrow I just wanted to get some background knowledge on what it could be

Is the check engine light flashing when all this happens? The codes will also be stored even if they were only for a min.

Yes! What do I win? Just replace it. It's fairly cheap I think.
