I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 4.7. It's in excellent condition - body rust fixed and new paint - interior is in immaculate condition - front-end completely rebuilt. I am having a professional engine exchange company install a re-manufactured engine. The question I have is; should the fuel-pump/filter be changed. They're combined as one unit installed inside the fuel tank, which of course requires to drop the fuel tank. Also, should all fuel injectors be replaced. When installing a re-manufactured motor you're only buying the assembled block up to the heads - all other accessories including the intake/exhaust manifold, fuel rail and old injectors etc are switched over from old egine. Is there a way to assure/test the injectors to validate their performance or should I replace all injectors (expensive). I would appreciate some thoughts on these question. Thanks

Google around, there is companies that do injector rebuild/cleaning and flow/pattern testing if yours are serviceable in that regard.

As to the fuel pump, I think it would be prudent preventative if on the original pump to change it. If money is tight, at least have fuel pressure checked to see if in spec and go from there.
