Hi All. I have a 2019 1500 Classic with the tow package - brake controller, 3.92 gears, etc. According to RAM's charts, the tow capacity is in excess of 10,000 lbs. However, my bumper says the max GVWR rating for a trailer is 5,000 lbs and 500 lbs tongue weight. What do I have to do to upgrade the bumper/hitch to take full advantage of the tow capacity? Thanks in advance.

The 5000 lbs limit is for actual "bumper pull" with a tow ball mounted to the hole in the actual bumper. Which nobody does anymore because trucks sit so high nowadays. If your truck has a hitch with the square receiver the higher number applies.

Psyched that the answer is so simple. Thanks a ton for the info. Much appreciated.
