Hey everyone,

I am looking for some opinions from this forum.

Eventually, I would like to add fender flares to my truck but without lifting it. (2016 ram sport). Do you guys think It would look hideous if I would add fender flares without jacking the truck?

Let a brother know.

They will look good but it's preference. I installed them on my truck and felt it made smaller and not as aggressive. Since I like the aggressive look I removed them. Some guys swear by them other don't ...

Yes and if you don't put some big fat meats to go with it it will look really terrible. After looking at numerous trucks I have decided against them. And I just put some big meats on it it that stick out a little...

Thank you everyone who mentioned their opinion! It matters to me!

For some reason, I bought a 2016 sport black out express and it is pretty naked. No tow hitch, no bed liner inside the box, no mud flaps. For that reason, I bought mud flaps to save the paint. I wasn't sure if I should install them because I was thinking of buying some DURATRAC tires which are wider then stock...I am not sure what to do yet...

flares don't and won't protect your paint, mud flaps will help much more than flares

I have flares on mine. I have 37's too. Depends on how big the flares are if they will help protect your paint or not. Mine helps some but not a lot since my tires hang out past the Bushwacker flares quite a bit.

I added OEM flares that I got an insane deal on from craigslist from a gal that just took them off her Laramie with the same matching paint. I spent only 150 on them....with all my other mods so far, I love how they fit in and look. The top is when I took it off the lot and the bottom is 3 months later...

Looks great! And for $150 painted, that's a smokin deal!!

I have flares in mine and I don't think they look too bad. I put them on knowing that I will be lifting it in the spring. I had found a great deal on eBay for mine and had a good friend paint them so that's why they are on now. But my album will give you more pics of the truck with them on. Note; I did purchase the narrowest ones I could find, too.

OE style flares will look good if you don't have plan on getting wider tires. Check out EGR and Bushwacker.

I like and just installed the OEM flares.
Could use a slightly fatter tire though so it looks just right, maybe some small spacers.
I find the Power Wagon with the OEM flares looks just right, but they use a wider series tire on 17's.
I like that the flares protect the edge & inside lip of your wheel wells.
Mud flaps protect the rest, for the most part, IMO.

I personally really like the OEM 2500 flares on the Express and Sports
I like the added clean lines and the more aggressive look.

I had them on my '14 express and just added them last night to my '15 sport

I like what Hinzy did to his... I think if you're not planning on getting a lift done, the OEM style fenders are the way to go. They definitely add the more aggressive look without going too aggressive... If that makes sense. :)

Unless you're going to go with a much wider tire or offset wheels, don't get the big flares. It looks bad when the tires aren't flush in them lol.

Maybe OEM is the way to go? They look great with stock tires and protect pretty well even with my 35's!

Canadian Tire has the duratracs on sale for 20% off right now too!
