I've noticed my S/O Hurricane engine coolant temp will fluctuate more than 20 degrees when driving steady on the highway.
It will creep up to 223 degrees then it will drop to 198 then the cycle repeats climbing back up then it drops back down.

I've had several 5.7L engines before and they seem pretty steady around 208 degrees.

Has anyone else observed this engine temp fluctuation with their S/O or H/O?

Mine seems to do the same. Only had it for a week, so I’m still getting used to it.

I guess they are designed to have a wide operating temp range.

It’s the AGS opening and closing as needed to maintain aerodynamics on the highway. Very normal as all the 1/2 ton powertrains do it, too.
