Hello, I recently ( 12 months) ago purchased my Ram 1500 Bighorn, 5.7 CC 2x4 short bed, it was a steal I'll tell ya, it had 360 hrs. on the motor, 26000 miles on it and was with only 1 scratch that I could find. The ole fella that had it passed away and his wife was too distraught to keep it around. Anyway I assured her that I would baby it just as he did. And I do!
I recently contacted Dodge customer care to find out the gearing in the diff. I found out it is with a 3.55 ratio.
Anyway I was also informed that there is this recall out there that I guess he never did. They assured me that it can still be done at no cost to me on parts or labor. My question is; has anybody been down this road on this recall and if so what is involved? I've researched and it says however it is somewhat vague.
If you have input it is welcome.
While I'm here I'll ask about the towing aspect on this truck. I will be upgrading to a 30ft TT which will have a GVWR of 7610lb. So according to the trailer industry this figure is totally weighted out. The UVW is 6033 and the axle weight is 5385. Tongue weight is @ 610 lb.
I guess my question is will my truck have any issues pulling this trailer both on flat ground as well as up inclines?
I already have a (WDH) weight dist. hitch with torsion bars as well as the sway bar.
Thanks for any input on this subject.
