So today i decided to add a little VP 100 octane fuel to my 91 octane and all i can say is wow. Here in CO we have 91 and no 93 so i found an octane calculator and a station that sells unleaded VP 100 octane at the pump and VP 110 leaded by the gallon or barrel. I was very impressed with how the truck runs now. I think i got it mixed around 95 oct or so and the engine sounds so smooth now and definitely has a little more power and throttle response. Maybe its all in my head but i doubt it. Anyways here's the octane calculator and feel free to share your opinions or experiences. :Big Laugh:

I dont plan to run it all the time. This was just something i wanted to try just once and see how it ran. Also to get opinions before i decide to even think of doing it again. I really dont know how it will do one time vs "all the time". That's what you guys that know are for lol. Thanks.

Its fine as long as you dont run leaded fuel. I know tons of guys that mix a little 100 octane unleaded in their tank when at the dragstrip. It only goes so far though if you dont have enough timing in your tune to truly take advantage of it. If you have been running winter blend 91 octane on a 93 octane tune, then I can definately see you benefitting from mixing a little 100 octane in the tank.

Whenever I run to the track and can get away with it I run the truck til the gas light comes on and fill up maybe an 1/8 tank with the Sunoco 108oct and then after a few passes and before I head home I usually fill it up to 1/4 tank and top it off with 91oct at the station before heading home (track is about a 45min to hour drive from my place). Runs real good on the 108oct
