Finally have the new rack and pinion installed on the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 with all new lines/tie Rod ends/bushings. Quite easy and straight forward process for a first timer. Trust me, if I can do it, you definitely can do it.
Now since there are absolute no algniment shops here here or anyone that does them. I’m going the “at home alignment tricks”. Going to use the easiest method of lining up the front tires with the rear on each side and adjusting accordingly. Secondly, I’ll try the string and jack stand method. Good thing we have no pavement here and just dirt roads. It’ll be good for now as I have stock tires on it until after the safety is done. Then 35s on 24s going on and I’ll have an alignment done after that.
The frame bolts are 235 FT pounds if anyone wants to know that.
I replaced everything including belt but my pump as it was still very good. Removed the pump and replaced O rings.
I didn’t get a lot of pics of the process as I wasn’t focused on pics of the switch.
Now onto the plugs/coils next.
