So I’m getting ready to order a new rack and pinion for my 2010 QC and I noticed the part for the CC is less expensive and the core is way cheaper so I started comparing. Why would there be differences between the two when cab size changes? 3d7441ff63076615f35525774c73accb.jpg

My best guess is turning radius.

Longer truck needs a tighter turn.

I actually just noticed the single cab and crew cab are the same part but the quad is different. I’m just gonna order the one for the quad so I don’t run into anything dumb.

According to your screenshots:

Rack length
Total turns to lock
Thread length (MM)
Input shaft diameter
Pressure port thread size
Return port thread size

...Are all different between those two.

Crazy to think they’d make a different one for our trucks but it looks like they’re quite different.

maybe like someone above said it’s because of the wheelbase and turning radius of different setups?

Yeah I wasn’t thinking much of the first three differences you listed but when the input shaft and the port sizes were different, I figured best to not try my luck lol.

If you trust the specs. I see that between the 2 the pressure & return port thread sizes are swapped. I agree, stick with the one listed for your truck. It's not worth the trouble for 10 bucks difference.

Update: I got one from NAPA that was supposed to fit my truck and it actually doesn’t as the input shaft is the wrong size.
