Hey guys, for a while now my overflow box has been slowly going down. I cannot find a leak and neither can my mechanic. 03 4.7L. Jus wondering if anyone has had or heard of anything like this happening before. Or if there are things I can check. The oil is fine. Had it change and have checked it. Other then that I don't know what to look for.

How slowly are we talking? Do you ever see any kind indication of a leak like a small almost dry spot on the driveway or anything? Mine did this for quite a while until it gradually got worse, and it was the water pump slowly leaking. At first it was so slow that any spot on the driveway was drying up before I could spot it. But eventually it got to the point where I could see a small trickle from the water pump itself.

Really slow leak. Still have yet to ever see a wet spot on the driveway. Don't really have to fill it up too often.

ive had my radiator replaced twice because i noticed at the very bottom on the driver side there was a very small leak, thank god for warranties and i replaced the overflow bottle and cap because i thought it was that but i was wrong but i guess now i dont have to worry about it anymore. hope you find your leak. i would look at the bottom driver side because thats where mine has been the last 2 times.

Pop the hood and check the top seam on the tank to see if its even alill shiny. Mine will lose just alill (less then a cup) over about a 3-4 month time.

Do a pressure test. Also you might be burning it.

Mine had a very small crack at the top corner of the drivers side. The plastic caps are known to leak. A new radiator is only $100 or so.
