Not for my RAM but for my car ,so you audio gurus might be able to guide me

t the radio went out sort of.
It has volume control but max volume you can barely hear ! And sound like 1 speaker.
Set control to rear speakers only and no sound at all. Adjusted balance no difference ! I assume something shot in the radio ? Is there a fuse for the speakers ? maybe a bad ground ?
I would not think all speakers are blown out !
Any input would be great !
Thanks

Year, Make, etc. ?
The radio issue is on my 2011 Chevy HHR !
I am assuming a bad radio but I am not a audio guru so figured someone here may have a idea!

Speakers generally don't have fuses. Your HHR may have an amplifier that has gone bad. Also, perhaps the connector plug attached the the radio/amplifier has come loose.

If it's not any of those, then it probably is a bad radio. Might be time for an upgrade!

Thanks. I did not think there was a fuse but had to ask,Who knows what people do lol.... It is a stock radio so not sure if it has a amp. But will check, The only sound s I get are from the Pillar tweeters !
But so far what I found out it is a common problem with the HHR to loose all 4 :O
They are 10 y/o and it was a cheap car even when new lol AKA Based off the Cobalt . SO will start with a test speaker and go from there. ANd if the radio is dead a Blue tooth model will be coming :)

I read this

Before you do a lot of disassembly, you can test the speaker in car, by unplugging it and take a 9 volt battery and momentarily touch the 2 speaker wires. If your speaker is okay you'll see the cone move and hear a little buzz. if you don't get that, then your speaker coil is open or the cone is jammed up.

moisture in the speakers possibly

Replace them with anything but the stock POS base speakers. Sure, moisture contributes to their demise, but they are self-destruct mechanisms. The coil leads rub and short and arc when played even a little loud, and quickly burn through the leads to an open, and I’m sure it would happen even if bone dry. Even the crappiest automotive speaker should tolerate a little moisture.

But also follow the advice give elsewhere to minimize the moisture problem.

Thanks, I was lookin gat the cones on the Crutchfield site ! Pretty cheap. I like your idea of the 9v battery test :)
I go to that HHR site and have been researching there as well..
I will wait for warm weather to pop the door panels and 20 * and 30* here now
Plus the HHR is a back up car !and I do not listen to rhe radio much, Just talk radio when I do
