Radio will not shut off

Have a 15 model year with the U-Connect feature.
The radio is activated every time the engine started.

Have tried the mute botton to silence it.
Have turned the volume knob to low volume position.

This there any way to turn off the radio?

There is no way to turn the radio off completely. I always turn the radio down to zero before shutting the truck off, it remembers the zero volume upon the next startup.

I'll admit that it's a little strange to not be able to turn it off, but I never drive without the radio so it doesn't matter to me, lol.

If you have nothing in the USB port, you can set the radio to media and it will not have any sound when you come back in and start the truck.

It does suck though that is does not have a proper off position.

It is truly ridiculous that there is no shut off but like was stated, I always listen to something when I'm in the truck

Have you tried holding the mute button? I have a pioneer deh-4900ib in my truck and to shut it off you have to hold the mute button (volume knob) in for about 3-5 seconds.

The 5.0 and 8.4 radios can't be turned off. They have and control too many functions of the truck for it to shut off. Your only options are mute and turn the screen off.
