Ram 1500 Bighorn Chrome Bumper Replace

About to buy a used 2019 Bighorn classic. It has the chrome bumpers, but I want body colored. Is it a bumper cover or just a colored bumper? Where can I get the cover if that is it? Thanks for the help.

Big Horn is a chrome steel bumper ... Not a cover ... Hard to paint unless your shop knows what they are doing ... Better off trying to find a Tradesman bumper, or just a primed bumper off of one of the Mopar Wholesale websites

You can get the ready to paint primed lower section for cheap. Then take to a good paint shop and have it matched. I like color matched bumpers but to be honest I don’t like the idea of a plastic bumper on my truck.

Could even sell the old chrome one for a few bones to go toward the painting of the new lower piece.

You’ll end up with the best of both worlds with a paint matched metal lower IMO....I’ve never liked the look/feel of a plastic car bumper on a truck.

i've seen some vinyl wraped bumpers that looked pretty close in color.......not sure how durable they are?

They can be painted, I had a painter buddy do our company Silverado. take bumper off, dismantle, DA it with 3 coats of epoxy primer and painted gloss black.

The one advantage of having the bumper wrapped is when you get rock dings it can be peeled and wrapped.
Although you can always have the painted bumper wrapped with the clear paint protection wrap.

I just bought raptor bedliner. I’m going to have it paint matched locally, remove the bumpers, sand them, and spray with bedliner.
