Has anyone upgraded this on their 2500 for more capacity along with cooler temps? And if so what brand did you go with?

I installed a Mag Hytec unit on my CTD.

I suspect they have one for your transmission.

You might also check to see which trans cooler you have. The normal 3/4 ton unit is obviously bigger than the 1/2 ton, but the 1 ton is UUUUGE lol

The 2500 already has a big cooler.

Internet is full of aftermarket pans which raises a question.....why wouldn't Dodge put a drain plug in stock pan knowing the transmission has service intervals.

Have you installed a 180* thermostat like so many do with the 5.7 ?

If it was made easy, they would have as many service requests. Like on the Jeeps the diffs have drain plugs, and hardly anyone goes in for lube changes.

190°, but that's because it's a clutch fan. There's a 180° in my Magnum. Good investment on the earlier engines to avoid dropped seats. Ram generally runs just below 200° when hot, the wagon right about 188°. Once the eagle heads and cam go on I may drop it to a 180° once I see what the running temps are.

Thanks for the replies. Currently trying to find a 1ton trans cooler. That's what I am looking for now.
